The highly anticipated 11th Annual Sea Festival in Kampot Province officially opened on Friday evening under the high presidency of Prime Minister Hun Manet and First Lady Pich Chanmony. The festival, themed “Celebrating Heritage and Sustainability of Coastal Areas,” highlights Cambodia’s rich culture, heritage, and eco-tourism potential. This annual event reinforces the importance of Cambodia tourism and promotes the Sea Festival 2024 as a cornerstone of regional development.
Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasized that the Sea Festival is a testament to Cambodia’s peace, safety, and security, allowing locals and international visitors to explore the country freely. He also praised Kampot province’s recent accomplishments, including the inauguration of the Kampot Multi-Purpose Port in June 2024, which enhances agriculture and tourism, and the soft opening of the Kampot International Tourism Port, creating new links to provinces and neighboring countries like Thailand and Vietnam.
This year’s festival, running until December 15, offers a variety of activities such as water sports competitions, art performances, a food and beverage festival, and a trade fair. Visitors can experience Kampot’s finest local products, including its world-renowned pepper, fresh seafood delicacies, and unique experiences in eco-tourism Cambodia.
Da Houg Heng Enterprise is proud to support the Sea Festival through its Kampot branch, which is actively participating with a dedicated booth at the trade fair. Our team is on-site to continue providing premium products, engaging with local businesses, and contributing to the success of the event. This reflects Da Houg Heng Enterprise’s commitment to supporting Cambodia’s tourism industry and economic growth in coastal regions.
Since its inception in 2011, the Sea Festival has been hosted by Cambodia’s four coastal provinces—Preah Sihanouk, Kep, Koh Kong, and Kampot—to promote tourism potential while fostering marine conservation and sustainability. The festival has significantly bolstered Cambodia’s reputation as a tourist destination, contributing to the development of its coastal provinces and highlighting their unique cultural and ecological significance. Cambodia’s 450-kilometer coastline, recognized by the Most Beautiful Bays in the World (World-Bays Club), is a major draw for tourists worldwide.
With Minister of Tourism Huot Hak predicting 6.7 million foreign visitors and 22 million domestic tourists in 2024, the Sea Festival plays a pivotal role in boosting tourism, showcasing local culture, and supporting businesses like Da Houg Heng Enterprise in their efforts to contribute to the nation’s development.
